The secret is finally out…we are pregnant!!!!! Right now, I'm 12.3 weeks along and our due date is February 3, 2012. Nate and I decided to start this blog for a few different reasons. First, we want to share our journey through parenthood with our close friends and family, and we don’t plan on posting lots of details about the pregnancy on Facebook. This type of forum feels more personal. Over the next couple of weeks, I'll post blogs every few days updating you on how things have gone so far. Once we’re all caught up, I’ll update in real time as things happen. Second, we’re doing this for ourselves so that we can remember every step of this journey. As anyone who has had a baby knows, the whole experience is a whirlwind of emotion and excitement. We want to capture all of the details so none of them get lost in it all. I’ve also noticed that my short-term memory is less reliable than my long-term memory. I still remember every sordid plot twist in the Sweet Valley High book series, but please don’t ask me what I had for lunch yesterday. I figure if I write things down as they happen, I will be able to enjoy these memories now and in the near future, rather than ten years from now when they will be clear as day.
